So Google is making it easier to hide these images without deleting them entirely. But sometimes there are photos on your device that even you don't want to see without a warning, whether that's an ex or a loved one who has passed away. Google Photos, meanwhile, includes a memory function that will alert you to photos that were taken years ago on that day. On Pixel phones, you can save photos and videos directly to a Locked Folder right from the camera. Locked Folders are coming first to Google Pixel smartphones the feature will roll out to more Android devices "throughout the year," Google says. Open a locked folder with a fingerprint or a PIN. They won't show up on the main screen as you scroll Google Photos, or on any other devices connected to your Google Photos account-like a Nest Hub sitting in your living room. To keep those photos extra secure, Google is adding a Locked Folder feature to Google Photos, which will password-protect photos you'd like to keep private. It's great for vacation pics or grandchildren shots for far-flung grandparents, but you might have a few photos saved to your account that are for your eyes only. Google Photos makes it easy to share photos with friends and family-individually or in albums.
